We got ourselves a Sailrite (industrial strength) sewing maching and will be sewing our own sail covers and awnings. Cap’n W already used it to sew a lugsail for Emma’s dinghy. In addition to the interesting learning process we hope that having the Sailrite on board will save us when we have to make repairs while underway, if need be.
